We requested that the manager call us when available. They simply told us that they would try to contact the previous hotel guest to return the knife. We reported it to the hotel front desk staff. Hygiene- There is no way housekeeping did not see the switch blade when removing the sheets from the previous hotel guest therefor, the sheets were likely not changed. Safety- Thank god the switch blade was closed and not open, and that my 4 year old nephew did not find it and hurt himself with it. It was on top of the mattress cover and under the fitted sheet. I stuck my hand underneath to retrieve it, and it was a 8 inch switch blade. Once we got into bed, I felt something underneath the fitted mattress sheet.
